HISTORY:Team Botak was originally established in 1993 but was reestablished in 1999 due to vandalism and threats to the members vehicles in the Los Angeles Division. Team Botak used to consist of 50+ cars but was slowly decreasing as more cars were being defaced. We then decided to secrete ourselves for some years and decided to start fresh in 1999 and this is where we are today.
We have three divisions of Team Botak; Santa Barbara(CA, most members of all divisions), San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles(CA) and also Las Vegas(NV).Team Botak is different from most teams out there. We are not about dominance of territory. We do not advocate street racing or people who are "rev-happy".
Team Botak hosts weekly meets EVERY Friday nights at the Home Depot parking lot starting at 9:00pm until people feel like going home (usually around 10:30). In addition, we
try to host monthly BBQ's or events on the last weekend of each month for everyone to enjoy. You can always find out more information about our meets and events in our forum.
RECRUITMENT:It does not take much to be a part of the team. Whether if your car is "all show/no go" or vice versa. All we ask for is your dedication to the team and your car to make
constant improvements. Make it out to our weekly meets, show up to car shows to support your team mates (even if you are not showing) and etc. The goal of the team is to act like a team.
Once you contact either Dan or I, we will introduce you to the rest of the team, assuming you have not done so. We will then proceed to give you ONE probational sticker(TB/Tak-Bo) to be affixed to a
specific location. Once you are on your probational period, you have a period of THREE months to make drastic improvements on your car. After your 3 month probational period, and proven that you are dedicated to the team and your car, we will give you your other TWO official Team Botak banner stickers to be affixed on your rear quarter windows; full member of Team Botak.
If you are on probation and deemed 'not worthy' after 3 months, we will have to ask you to kindly remove the TB(Tak-Bo) probational sticker.
(note: The
probational logo "TB" is easily misunderstood for "Team Botak" but in actuality, it stands for "Tak-Bo" which means "Run Fast" in Filipino. )
