Couple more things I thought up while at work.

We could make T-shirts and whatnot to sell/giveaway at the show, put sponsors on the back of the shirt, etc.

Sell VIP spots that will have more coverage.

For trophies I need to get some feedback...

Best of Show should obviously be the biggest, I was thinking a 4 column trophy for those

1st place trophies will be 3 column
2nd will be two
3rd will be a one column

But for the other trophies like lowest car, best honda, etc. should we make it a 2 column trophy? Or just make plaques?

put a little humor into the trophies too... i know s2ki had a fairly large meet a while back and they were giving out a few funny awards.. cant remember what they were off the top of my head tho

we have a shop out here that does plaques... they probably do trophies too id have to check but seeing that im military i can get them for cheap.. jsut run a price check on where ever you are and let me know and ill do the same whenever you guys are ready

First thing should be setting a date. I gotta get on this poster assignment too. I wonder what it would take to hold it at UCSB. Or the mall. I know the Mall up here would be down. They've been advertising like crazy to have events there.

I think you're talking about the spugen meet haha

there were awards for most ripped softtop, least likely to win a race, most dirty, etc.

The thing is with that meet though, most of the people knew each other so they could poke fun at each other.

Actually to get UCSB all someone needs to do is start something like UC Irvine and UCSD did. They had shows that were called Imports @ UC?? If you google it you will see that they had DJ's, and other stuff going on at the campus.

UCI has been hosting car shows for several years and they've built a great reputation.
It'd be great if UCSB approves a car show on campus.

We can choose the parking structure next to the library only if they approve!
That one is like wek'fest. It's big and located in the middle of campus.
it's also close to IV.

That's what I'm thinking. The UC Irvine and UCSD ones have been growing a lot and seem to have full support from the schools. Does anyone on here go to UCSB?

I will transfer to UCSB this Fall if I get rejected by Cornell, Stanford, Boston College, UC Berkely, and USC.

Someone give them a call and get an idea of if it would even be possible. Ask them if they have any clubs like Imports at UC Irvine, etc. Or let them know you're interested in doing a charity show and need a big location.

As far as I know, they don't have any car clubs. But, I will look into this again..

How about public parking structures in Downtown?
If we can get approval from UCSB, why not from Santa Barbara County.

Here are possible places:

1. UCSB praking structure
2. Earl Warren show grounds
3. Ellings park
4. Leadbetter beach like Left coast low

1. Find charities and sponsorships and do some activities such as car wash.
2. Another BBQ to try and build a good reputation.
and join more car meets to let them know about Team Botak.
3. Find a place to host a show.

i will contact UCSB later today.

I joined Auto club @ SBCC too. They said they have a trailer for race cars too.
I can get helps from them too. Will see.

wow this thread BLEW up!..if we do the parking structure we cant charge people to spectate..bc there are too many stairs and elevators..

but yeh when it comes to the financial part of it i definitely think a carwash will be a good fundraiser..we can sell presale tickets for a few dollars cheaper
